Each and every tin robot starts off as a flat sheet of bare tin metal. It is then stamped, punched, cut, teased and shaped via hundreds of mold sets on vintage hydraulic presses to craft their various parts. After weeks of exhausting work all set by hand, slowly their iconic looks begin to take form.

A glimpse of this time consuming and very labor intensive process is shown in the slideshow sequence above (Javascript required). It shows how the Zoomer body shell is formed. This is just a very small portion of the entire process to make a complete robot.

We hope this production insight gives you a deeper appreciation of the artisanal work involved when you obtain your very own unique robot from our shop.
